Please excuse any errors; grammatic and otherwise. It took me 2 weeks to get this out, so go figure my current mental state. Thanks
I started this post about 2 weeks ago, and yet I never managed to get it out. When I tell you guys that stress is not my friend, it is no joke. I do not know how to deal with stress at all. My temporary solution is usually to focus on the most important thing, and just ignore whatever else is going on at the moment. For now that works, but I dont know how long it’s going to work for. A few days ago at lunch, my co-workers and I were discussing how we cope with difficult situations. Say you’re stressed at work, yet you still have to go home and deal with a sick child, homework for the ok kid, cook and get ready for the next day. I have to say, hats off to all the working parents of the world, because I know I am not ready for that. I cannot even begin to fathom how I would handle that kind of situation, but my co-worker insisted that when I get to that point, I would know how to handle it. I am still a little skeptic, but seeing that I don’t have to worry about any of that for the time being, I will go about doing me.
March passed me by! I dont know what happened to the last 28 days but they sure did zing by me pretty fast. A quick recap for you dear ones. There was the Boston trip which was not only an eye opener, but allowed to meet pretty cool people. Then it was spring break, and I got a visit from the the pretty Ms Nina-Belle of http://theninabelleshow.blogspot.com and it was loads of fun times. We took a road trip to the Crescent city aka the Big Easy aka N’awlins or New Orleans!!! I think the six hour drive exhausted me more than anything, so I never got to take good shots of the French and Spanish quarter like I’d planned to. Either ways, we had a good time out on Bourbon Street that evening. It happened to be St Patty’s day, so best believe the debauchery out there was on a kentro level! Given that I am not good with words, I’ll let these pics speak for themselves
For those of you who do not speak French, chef menteur literally means ‘lying chief”. In context though, I daresay it means a big liar. Either ways, only in the great state of Louisiana do I find little things like this that brighten up my usually bleek existence
This picture cant even show you a tenth of how ratchet this car was, but please peep the metal hanger used to keep the door in place!!! I would’ve taken a clearer shot, but my sadity behind was scared of getting shot!!!
Self-explanatory. If my momma asks me what that is, it will be cat sauce. I aint even playing
I dont know what to say about this one though …
I don’t know if you can see clearly, but the license plate was from Quebec!!! I know truckers drive to all kinds of places, but Quebec to Louisiana though. And yes, I had to do a crappy edit job in paint, because I didn’t want to have his plate numbers on here. So yeah, these are some of the beautiful things I saw in the great state of Louisiana. The return trip was kinda long, and we got stuck in traffic for an hour for no apparent reason. All in all it was a good trip.
March also led to the discovery of two new blogs. Talking about blogs, I think I invented a new name for myself. I am a BLORE! “blog + whore” Get it? I didn’t think you would, but I still had to share. Yes, I know my corniness has no end. But yeah, I discovered two amazing blogs that I am yet to go through entirely, but I do believe you should all check out. Thanks to the lovely Daks of TWP, I got to find the lovely Asha of nj2naija and it was love at first sight. Not only does she blog every single day, but I find every single one of her posts funny and witty, yet still able to allow me to learn something from her. The love she has for her kids has made me wonder if I am even capable of that kind of love. Definitely check her out. There is also metroadlib, who I first came across on twitter. I can’t seem to find the words to describe her blog seeing as I have only read 2 posts myself so far, but I liked what I saw. So check her out at http://metroadlib.wordpress.com. Last but not the least is my older sister, Leo. Every single time I read her work, I want to just shut my blog down! Like totally. This girl has a way with words that I cant even describe. If you think I am exaggerating, check out this post she wrote about my daddy here. If you are not crying when you get done, then ………… kill yourself! lol. Okay, maybe not that but you get my drift.
I am also working on increasing my knowledge by reading more. I started off by reading the first book in the Hunger Games trilogy. It was fun, riveting and exciting book, but I still felt like I wasted my time. I think after reading non-fiction these last couple years, I may never be able to read fiction. again. Like there is this feeling I get when I finish reading a good book. I think about what I learned, and how I can use the lessons learned to make me a better person. I didn’t get that from the Hunger Games. So its back to non-fiction for me. First up; “Left to tell: Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust: by Immaculée Ilibagiza. I started reading the foreword on the bus on my way home today, and I can already feel that I am going to enjoy it!
I am looking forward to April because it is my birth month, woot woot, and there is soooo much to do. I can’t lie, growing old scares me. I am not mature or wise enough to appreciate my age. No! I would rather be young, but since I dont have a choice or say in the matter, I am going to try and celebrate my birthday this year. Afterall, I have soooooooooo much to be thankful for! There is of course a lot more to come in the horizon, but I daresay I did well. Unlike last year though, I have not been able to come up with an amazing April Fool’s prank. And seeing that I will be spending part of the day with my sister and mother, it is safe to say I will not be trying anything. But happy birthmonth to all my fellow April babies and Arians(sp?) in the House. I dont believe in horoscopes and stuff like that, but I do think Aries do share common traits. Most of us are feisty, crazy yet extremely driven people. And I can say this for a fact because I know a good number of people from this sign. If you disagree with me, please feel free to drop a comment. I would love to read from you
So yeah, this would be my rundown for the month of March and I promise to put up a food post soon! Thanks for stopping by, and do feel free to leave a comment, share with a friend or follow!
